The Poem that Inspired it All!

Task:  Your job is to create a video campaign (2-3 minutes in length) persuading your peers that your chosen Woman is THE GREATEST WOMAN in HistoryThis project will be broken down into 3 parts which will be completed during a 3 day period in the library.

Part One: Research –

Using the eLibrary Subscription Database, and the Government of Canada's 'Celebrating Women's Achievements' Webpage research your chosen woman.  While researching, two partners should look for information, while one looks for photos to use in your digital story (save photos to your desktop or a USB for easy access when needed later on in the process).  The information you find can easily be recorded on your Women’s Biographical Information Organizer.

Once you have found all of the information you require, you are responsible for creating a script so you are ready to podcast during the next library period.

By the end of your 1st period you should have:

  • Completed the Information Organizer
  • Compiled Photographs of your woman to use in your digital story
  • Created a script of what you will say during your recording (finish for homework)

Part Two: Podcasting –

Using Audacity or Adobe Premiere, your group is responsible for recording your campaign for your woman that will be used as a voice over during your Digital Story.  The use of music and sound effects is recommended as it will add emotion and interest to your story.

For information on Podcating and using Adobe Premiere Elements, see the pages below:

Instructions for how to podcast will be provided in class on this day.

OR

You can record your narration directly into Adobe Premiere

Part Three: Creating a Digital Story –

You will be using Adobe Premiere Elements 7 to create your digital story. You will need to import your podcast and photos.  You will then be responsible for sequencing your photos and audio while using transitions to create a moving and persuasive video montage for you chosen woman.  Instructions on how to use Adobe Premiere will be provided at the beginning of class this day.
